What the health check looks at
- Security settings: whether your padlock (SSL certificate) is valid, visitors are always sent to the secure version, and your site uses the protective settings browsers understand.
- Signs of hacking: "hacked by" messages, hidden spam links, disguised code, and pages that send visitors to other websites.
- Speed: whether your homepage loads quickly and isn't too heavy for phones.
- Google basics: page title, search description, main heading, works on phones, a sitemap, and whether Google is allowed to list your site.
- Email protection: whether your domain has SPF and DMARC records, which stop scammers sending fake emails that look like they came from you.

What to do with your results
Start with the "Top things to fix" list. Each item says what's wrong in plain English and what to do about it. Many fixes take a few minutes in your website builder or hosting control panel. If someone else built your site, forward them the report: it lists exactly what to change.
Common questions
Is it really free?
Yes. You can check any website on screen without signing up. You only need an email if you want the report sent to you.
Can I check a website that isn't mine?
Yes, for example a competitor's or a client's. It only looks at what's public. To turn on monitoring and alerts, though, the website should be yours or one you look after.
Why did my site get a low grade?
Usually a few missing settings that are quick to add. The report lists them in order of importance, so fix the top ones first and check again.
